Privacy Policy

We take your privacy seriously - just like we take cargo security seriously. Here's the straight talk about how we handle your information.

Last updated: November 11, 2025

Introduction

Look, we get it - privacy policies can be a real snooze-fest. But when you're trusting us with your high-value cargo, you deserve to know exactly what we're doing with your information. So we're gonna keep this as straightforward as possible.

At Runeveil Fortress Cargo, we've been moving secure shipments across borders for years, and we've learned that protecting data is just as important as protecting physical cargo. This policy covers everything we collect, why we need it, and how we keep it locked down tighter than our armored trucks.

By using our services - whether that's booking a shipment, tracking your cargo, or just browsing our site - you're agreeing to this privacy policy. If something doesn't sit right with you, give us a call at (604) 827-3940 and let's talk it through.

Information We Collect

We're not in the business of collecting data for fun - we only grab what we actually need to get your cargo from point A to point B safely. Here's what that looks like:

Personal & Business Information
  • Your name, company name, and job title (gotta know who we're dealing with)
  • Phone numbers and email addresses (so we can reach you when your cargo's on the move)
  • Billing and shipping addresses (kind of important for the whole delivery thing)
  • Payment information - though we don't store full credit card numbers on our end
  • Business licenses and credentials (especially for cross-border stuff)
Shipment Details
  • Cargo descriptions, dimensions, and declared values
  • Origin and destination info
  • Special handling requirements (temperature control, security level, that sort of thing)
  • Insurance details and documentation
Technical Stuff
  • IP addresses and device information when you visit our site
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Pages you visit and how long you hang around
  • Referring URLs (how you found us)

How We Use Your Information

We're not selling your data to sketchy third parties or anything like that. Everything we collect serves a real purpose in our operations:

Service Delivery

Processing your shipments, coordinating pickups and deliveries, managing our armored vehicle fleet

Communication

Sending you updates, alerts, and confirmations about your cargo's status

Security & Compliance

Meeting regulatory requirements, preventing fraud, maintaining our security protocols

Improvement

Analyzing patterns to make our services better and more efficient

We'll occasionally send you info about new services or changes to our operations, but you can opt out of that stuff anytime. The critical shipment updates? Yeah, those you're stuck with - they're part of the service.

Data Security

We didn't become a trusted name in armored logistics by being careless. Our data security game is just as tight as our physical security:

Military-grade encryption for all data transmission and storage
  • Secure servers: Located in certified facilities with 24/7 monitoring
  • Access controls: Only authorized personnel can access sensitive data, and we log everything
  • Regular audits: We test our systems constantly to find and patch vulnerabilities
  • Employee training: Our team knows data security isn't optional
  • Backup systems: Multiple redundancies so your data doesn't just disappear

That said, no system is 100% bulletproof. If we ever experience a breach that affects your data, we'll let you know immediately and tell you exactly what happened and what we're doing about it.

Sharing & Disclosure

We're pretty protective of your info, but sometimes we gotta share it to get the job done. Here's when that happens:

Service Partners

We work with trusted partners for things like payment processing, warehouse operations, and specialized transport. They only get the info they need to do their part, and they're contractually obligated to keep it secure.

Legal Requirements

If law enforcement shows up with a warrant, or if we're legally required to disclose something for customs, border control, or regulatory compliance, we'll hand over what's necessary. We're not gonna risk our licenses over it.

Business Transfers

If Runeveil Fortress Cargo ever gets acquired or merges with another company (not planning on it, but you never know), your data would be part of that transfer. The new owners would still be bound by this privacy policy though.

With Your Permission

Sometimes we might ask if we can share your info for specific purposes - like using your company as a reference or case study. That's always your call, and we won't do it without explicit consent.

GPS & Real-Time Tracking

Our real-time GPS tracking system is one of our biggest selling points - clients love being able to see exactly where their cargo is. But let's talk about what that means for data:

Location Data

We collect continuous GPS coordinates from our vehicles during active shipments. This data is stored for 12 months for security and dispute resolution purposes. You can access your shipment's tracking history through your account.

The tracking system also logs things like speed, stops, route deviations, and estimated arrival times. If you're using our temperature-controlled services, we're also monitoring and recording climate data throughout transit.

This tracking data is encrypted and only accessible to authorized personnel and the client who owns the shipment. We don't sell or share tracking patterns with third parties for marketing or analysis.

Your Rights

This is your data we're talking about, so you've got some say in what happens with it. Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA, to be specific), here's what you can do:

Access

Request a copy of all the personal data we have on you. We'll get it to you within 30 days.

Correction

Found something wrong? Let us know and we'll fix it. Accurate records help everyone.

Deletion

Ask us to delete your data (though we might need to keep some stuff for legal reasons).

Portability

Get your data in a format you can take to another provider if you want.

To exercise any of these rights, shoot us an email at dispatch@runeveilfortress.info or call (604) 827-3940. We'll verify your identity (for security reasons) and then take care of your request.

Cookies & Web Technologies

Yeah, our website uses cookies - not the edible kind unfortunately. Here's the breakdown:

Essential Cookies

These keep the site working properly - things like remembering you're logged in, keeping items in your quote cart, that sort of thing. Can't really turn these off without breaking the site.

Analytics Cookies

Help us understand how people use our site so we can make it better. We use these to see which pages get the most traffic, where people get stuck, stuff like that. These are optional and you can disable them in your browser.

Preference Cookies

Remember your settings and preferences so you don't have to set them every single time you visit.

Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. Just heads up - if you block all cookies, some parts of our site might not work right.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We don't hang onto your information forever - that'd be weird and unnecessary. Here's our retention schedule:

  • Active shipment data: Kept for 7 years (legal requirement for transport records in Canada)
  • GPS tracking logs: 12 months after delivery
  • Financial records: 7 years (tax law requirement)
  • Communication records: 2 years for customer service quality and dispute resolution
  • Marketing data: Until you opt out or close your account
  • Security footage: 90 days unless there's an incident

Once data hits its expiration date and we don't have a legal reason to keep it, we securely delete or anonymize it. We're not hoarders.

Common Privacy Questions

Nope. Never have, never will. We're in the cargo business, not the data-selling business. Your information is used solely for providing our services and meeting legal requirements. That's it.

Not really, sorry. Cross-border cargo transport has legal requirements - customs needs to know who's shipping what. We need verified identities for security and liability reasons. If you're concerned about privacy, we can discuss what information is absolutely necessary versus optional.

GPS tracking data is stored for 12 months after delivery, then it's automatically purged from our systems. We keep it that long in case there are disputes or insurance claims. The data is encrypted and only accessible to authorized personnel and the client who owns the shipment.

Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you're done. Or just reply asking to be removed and we'll take care of it. Note that you'll still get critical emails about your active shipments - those aren't optional.

Yes, we're legally required to provide shipment information to customs and border control agencies when moving cargo internationally. This includes shipper/receiver details, cargo descriptions, and values. It's part of cross-border transport regulations - not optional for us or any other legitimate carrier.

Absolutely. We use PCI-DSS compliant payment processors and don't store full credit card numbers on our servers. All payment transactions are encrypted and processed through secure channels. We only keep the last 4 digits for reference purposes.

Give us a call or send an email pointing out what's wrong. We'll verify the correction and update our records ASAP. Accurate data helps us serve you better and prevents shipping mistakes, so we appreciate the heads up.

We review it annually and update it when there are significant changes to how we operate or when laws change. If we make major changes, we'll notify you by email and post a notice on our site. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
